Best course of action for a rash would be to determine what type it is. Try putting some lamisil ( fungal ) on it or neosporin ( bacterial )

I would take notice of the color, shape, size and whether or not it is draining any fluid and if so what color it is. Then notify your physician.

If you have been out in the wilderness you should consider if you have poison ivy or oak. If not, then think about if your laundry detergent has changed, maybe that's irritating your hip. In any event, cortisone cream should help clear it up. If not, see a doc.

Apply lactocalamine soothing cream. Further check if it is an allergy from the dress material type. If yes, then avoid using such materials again. Secondly it could be an insect bite. Apply some antibacterial lotions and check for 3 days. It is still persists, do check with a doctor.

Some rashes can be caused by exposure to heat. Some are caused by allergic reactions. If you have started using any new medications recently, they might be the cause. Creams and lotions could also cause the rash. If it does not go away within a few days, contact your doctor.
