You may or may not always have pain when you get a hip replacement surgery. It really depends on how your body adjusts to the surgery and the new hip. It will probably hurt more and be sore and painful when it rains kind of like authoritis that old people have.

Pain after hip replacement varies between patients. You'll recieve pain management to cope with the symptoms. Tell your doctor right away about any calf or chest pain.

With proper care and regular exercise, you should be back to normal activites within 6-8 weeks of hip replacement surgery. Many factors will determine your precise healing time. Age, activity level, climate, obesity, etc can all either help or delay progress. Likewise, duration of surgery and extent of injury to surrounding tissue can alter healing time.

Hip replacement surgery is very much advanced nowadays and causes less pain than earlier. The pain will be there only for one or two weeks. Immediately after the surgery the hip joint should be mobilised to avoid pain due to stiffness
