It means that your dog needs to go to the vet as soon as possible. It could have ulcers, or worse, since there is mucus as well, it could have ruptured a part of his upper gastro intestinal tract. Eating foreign objects, or advanced age can cause this. If an infection results it could be fatal.

Bright red blood is an indication that the bleeding is very low in the rectum. If the bleeding were higher in the intestine, the stools would look black and tarry. Given the combination of blood and mucous, the dog should be seen by a veterinarian to rule out infection, disease, blockage or injury.

If we notice any blood stains in the dog's feces it would reflect the problem of large intestine. It could be also due to infection in the anal part. The bright red blood in stools would be because of problems persisting in the esophagus or in stomach part. These problems would cause blood in stools.

Most likely this is a stomach virus of some sort. You should see your vet and follow their advice exactly. The dog should recover fine then.

It means that probably the dog has a bacteria o certain worms that affect the digestive system of the dog. To treat this, is recommendable to have pills for desparasitation. If you miss this, is good to take care of the dog by bringing it to the veterinary or a specialist.
