What does a dogs BUN have to be to be considered kidney failure?

You should talk to your vet about your individual dog and what would be considered kidney failure for it. BUN stands for Blood Urea Nitrogen, and you should have your vet run the tests to determine what your dog's number is.

A normal dog will have a BUN of about 25 - a dog with kidney failure might be diagnosed with a BUN that's well 150.
