A pentium 4 is old. It has been replaced by core-duos and the new core i3/i5/i7s. Only buy if you are okay with a potentially 5 year (or older) processor.

The Pentium 4 with HyperThreading CPU's are a little dated. It depends what you plan to use the computer for but it might be better to go with the new Intel processors, the i3, i5, and i7 models. The i3 is a cheap dual-core CPU which will work fine.

The Pentium4 is a couple of years old and it was not the most power efficient processor. You will not get the latest games to run smoothly but for websurfing and office tasks it might be enough. The successors core and core2 deliver more bang per gigahertz and per watt.
