Can a store dock your pay for merchandise that is broken?

I do not think that they can dock your pay for something like that. Your check is suppose to be for the amount of time that you worked and taxes taken out. They can not take out things like that without your permission.

It completely depends on where you live. Most states allow for that, since you are the one at fault. But a few states specifically prohibit this from happening.
