Why won't my old monitor work with my new PC?

You might need to find the driver for that monitor in order for it to work with the new pc. Some older monitors come with driver disk that make it work with the old pc. New software OS's might not have bothered to have the drivers need to make it work.

Your graphics card in the new computer is set to too high of a resolution, the old monitor does not support it.
