The contact bushes could be worn out. When the contacts are not giving the required surface for transmission of electric current, there is heating which goes beyond the expected since its a problem that is demanding some attention from an expert. One of the reason that your motor radiator is overheating is that there may be an item that is blocking the radiator which cause the motor to overheat. You can try to fix by checking the radiator to see if there is nothing blocking it.
