Plaque and tartar can get stuck in the folds of the tonsils. Some cleaning solutions can cause temporary white spots in the mouth and canker sores are also common after dental treatment. Any spots that don't go away in two weeks should be checked by a dentist.

Wow. If you can actually see your tonsils yourself, you're doing well. Did you actually check for a white spot before the cleaning? It may have been there all along. My best guess is that it may be a piece of calculus that has been dislodged during the clean.

The white spot may have nothing to do with getting your teeth cleaning at all. It could possibly be a small particle of food that has become lodged there. I have had this happen in the past and it can be quite persistant and take a lot of agitation to dislodge it.

Having a white spot on your tonsils might be pus due to an infection. This could be anywhere from strep throat to tonsillitis. It is best to seek a doctors advice in case of a serious medical condition. Your doctor can give you antibiotics to reduce the infection.

Tonsils usually display white spots when they are inflamed or infected. A deep cleaning done by a dentist will free up more bacteria living in your mouth than daily brushing. It is quite possible that your cleaning stirred up some bacteria in your mouth that caused your throat and tonsils to become irritated.

It might be a tonsil stone, or tonsillolith. It may have been there before the cleaning, but came to your attention afterward. Sometimes you will cough them out, but you can help speed them along with a water pik, if tolerable, aimed at the back of the throat.

could be strep throat or sometime tonsils can trap bacteria or food particles and can get irrritated and cause these white spots on the tonsils. these particles or bacteria can be removed by doctor pretty easily. if your tonsils have been removed there is no need to worrie about this problem.
