The twelve apostles (sometimes called the twelve disciples) of Jesus Christ, according to the New Testament, were Simon Peter, Andrew, James the son of Zebedee, James' brother John, Philip, Thomas, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Canaanite, Judas Iscariot, and Bartholomew. After Judas betrayed Christ and hung himself, the remaining eleven apostles elected Matthias to replace him.

Remembering is easier when you know things about them that make them real to you. Peter and Andrew were brothers, as were James and John. Phillip from Bethesda, Matthew the tax collector,Simon the Zealot,Bartholomew,and Thomas make nine. James of Alphaeus, Thaddeus, and of course Judas Iscariot are the remainder.
