What's the difference between a cashier's check and a money order?

Answer by  Darry (3853)

A cashier's check is issued by a bank, payable from an account held by that bank. These are guaranteed funds and must always be treated as a check. Money orders can be issued by a variety of entities and are not guaranteed on a federal level.
