Some of high blood pressure is determined by genetic predisposition, but you can still do some things to help. Exercise regularly; it doesn't have to be extremely vigorous exercise, but regularity is the key. Eat healthy foods. Plenty of whole grains and vegetables will be great for you in more ways than one. Avoid saturated fats and too much alcohol.

Sleeping regularly, not smoking, regular exercise and a well balanced diet. If it runs your family, I would definitely recommend keeping up on all four of those activities, high blood pressure can be dangerous.

Keep your weight down, partake of a low-sodium diet, and exercise daily. This will go a long way towards keeping your blood pressure at a normal level.
