What should I know about Vicodin and blood clotting?

This is a good question. Before considering any treatment you should consult your local doctor. Just because a treatment works well for someone else doesn't mean it will, or is even safe for you. If you have any allergies or reactions that you know of let your family doctor know.

Vicodin is not known to be a blood thinning pain medicine. If your concern is about blood not clotting when bleeding from a minor surgery occurs it should not be a concern.

Vicodin has tylenol in it and does not affect clotting. Its medicine with asprin that will cause you not to have blood clotting.

Vicodin is a narcotic in combination with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and does not affect clotting time. It also does not cause blood clots. Aspirin products affect clotting time, but Vicodin contains no aspirin.

Vicodin use can actually prevent blood clotting, as it is a common side effect. In addition, take only as prescribed, as there are other dangerous side effects with long term or over use. Proceed with Vicodin use cautiously, as it also contains a narcotic, which can be addicting and create other issues
