The problem with taking the law into your own hands is that an individual might use excessive amount of force that may result in great bodily injury or even death because of a minor crime being committed. Also, doing this is taking the risk of being civily and criminaly prossecuted.

When you do this you put your self out there for trouble. It is better to let the law handle the problem if they can.
