Remove the stud or earring and make a routine of applying hydrogen peroxide to the area 2 to 3 times a day until it clears up; after recovery go re-pierce.
Infected cartilage piercings can be problematic because cartilage can disintergrate. One should see a physician and not attempt to self treat this infection.
