It's a breed of meat sheep, originally bed/developed in South Africa I believe. They're for mutton (not wool) and do well in drier landscapes.

The Dorper is developed in South Africa by crossing Dorset Horn and the blackhead Persian sheep. This is developed by Department of Agriculture in South Africa, which developed to get the meat from it.
