Is it legal for an employer to withhold wages because they have a query?

I was told that my paycheck was not prepared because the boss wants to talk to me about something.

It is absolutely not legal for an employer to do this. Now, that's not to say your boss can't hold the physical check so that you have to enter his office to get it. But as far as not paying wages, that is not legal in any state. If that happens, contact your human resource department right away!

Ir probably isn't. Even people that get fired still get their paychecks. You may not be receiving your paycheck just yet because your boss may think that you lied about your hours.

They withheld my wages as I had written down one hour in the diary for attending a training morning (which also by the way the lecturer did not show up) and this was my reason for writing it!did not get paid in the end.
