The gateway being offline means that the network device you are trying to route your internet request through is not working or not online. The gateway acts as a highway between two cities.

When your gateway is offline it means that there is no internet connection. You need to check it or call your system/network administrator in order to fix that. You can't troubleshoot it if you are not familiar or has the idea about network or internet connection. Or you can call your local internet service provider.
