This plant needs full sun and warm temperatures. It should be watered lightly in the cooler months with more water being given during the warmer periods. Fertilizer, such as liquid manure, is vital for this plant. It should be heavily pruned to give the plant a nice shape.

Allamanda is a tropical plant needing winter protection in most of the US Allamanda can spend summer out of doors. Soil should be moist, but not soggy. Allamanda vines need regular feedings during the summer growing season and benefit from a support for the vine to cling to. The vines can be pruned and stem cuttings root easily in sand.

In frost environments, allamanda will be a bush, as opposed to a climber. It needs rich wet soil, bright light and high temperature, so in the north it is best as house plant. Give it morning sun and afternoon shade.
