Truthful advertising and honest business practices are the main focus of "consumer rights." Various states have a "Consumer Bill of Rights" that affords the consumer the right to safety, information, choice, a voice, redress and other issues.

"Consumer Bill Of Rights" was first introduced in 1962 by President John Kennedy. There's four principles to these rights. First is the right to safety. Second is the right to choose freely. The third's the right to be heard. The fourth's the right to be informed. Agencies such as the BBB and FDA are set up to regulate these rights.

Consumer rights are the rights of individuals who make purchases. These basically encompass what available remedies consumers have when they make purchases and/or buy things from individuals or companies. These rights are what a person can do when he or she is unhappy with the purchase and their available options.
