Hwy 101 is one of the nation's most scenic drives. It is very beautiful. If driving along the coast, you must stop in Malibu. Paradise Cove is amazing and there is a great restaurant. You may also consider stopping in Carmel and possibly at Pebble Beach. There are lots of small towns along the way to stop, shop, and eat.
