Using small stones in pots or marbles in pots is a great way of having decorations without the mess of flowers and dirt that could come with traditional table decorating. Another option would be to study napkin folding and use that as your table decorations since it is a dinner party.

Some nice little flower arrangements, not tall, short candles, like the ones used in massage salons and some original way to fold the napkins maybe.
