When dealing with asthma , it is very important to consult your doctor with this question. Strenuous exercise can cause a shortness of breath, which can induce an asthma attack. Using the inhaler before exercising opens the passage ways, which makes exercising possible for asthmatics. Again, these are the questions that need to be asked of your personal physician.

As someone with asthma I only use my inhaler when I need it and never as a preventative tool. Your doctor should be able to help you come up with an asthma control program that best fits your needs.

I was told that before exercise I should warm up first. After getting my heartrate up, I should then take my inhaler.
