Should I be concerned that my fiance owes back taxes?

Taxes should be free and clear before any future entanglement occurs. And future tax debt should not be avoided but kept up to date. Tax debt multiples very quickly. Eventually it must be paid.

Yes you should be concerned. Even though the back taxes are your fiance's responsibility, it may mean that there will be future problems that YOU will be responsible for.

It could be an issue. The IRS has sweeping collection powers, and can ultimately garnish her wages or seize her property, and this can happen after you get married.

You should definitely be concerned. Once you are married you could eventually be held liable also. For instance, if the Government wants their money back and doesn't get a check they could do something like put a lien on your home. It will also reflect on your credit.
