How will will it be until my cats get along?

Animal trainers recommend that if you are bringing new pets into the home that you keep it separated from other pets. Put the newer pet in a room with bedding, food and water and of course you can go in and visit. Your older cat will adjust to the scent.

Wow unless they are fighting I wouldn't worry about it. Cats do a whole lot of posturing for a while until they have determined in their own way who is going to be the alpha cat. Cats who have been with you longer will naturally want the alpha position.

Your cats will eventually learn to get along. The older cats get the harder it is for them to want to share their space. Kittens usually adapt much faster than full grown felines. Older cats tend to learn to ignore each other more than anything but sometimes they will bond.

They may never get along but they will learn to tolerate each other. Make sure each cat has their own space (i. e. , sleeping spots, feeding station, etc. ). One of the cats might be punishing you. My cat Mini punished me for 8 months and pretended to hate my new cat until I caught her grooming him :-)
