Let staff know that feedback is welcome anytime, but is also not required (so that they won't have to make something up when there is nothing useful to add).

To be a good boss/manager, constant staff survey should be made. Once every 3 months is very effective. By doing this, you will be more successful in strategic plannining.

It is a good practice to ask for staff feedback at least once a month. This will help you to know if there are any major problems early on.
