To get your GED in AL you would take the test. It's made up of 5 sections you would want to study - Language-arts (2 parts), Social studies, Science, Math (2 parts). Then a 45 minute essay.

The Alabama Community College System administers GED testing statewide. It costs $50 your first time, retakes are $10 per section. The tests are in 5 sections and the entire test takes about 7.5 hours to complete. For an additional cost, the Alabama Community College System also provides GED preparation classes.
