How do you build a wood dog kennel?

Would it be effective?

I don't think that would be the best idea, since a dog could chew the wood and end up having splinters in it's mouth and stomach. As well as it would be easier and easier over time for the dog to get out. You would probably be better off buying a dog kennel made of metal.

Make sure the bottom will not actually sit on the ground; if there is an air gap of about an inch or more it will help insulate the dog house. Wood chips make great bedding and a pitched roof will help keep the dog from jumping on the top.

Plans for wood dog houses are available online. However, plastic igloo style ones have better insulation. For either kind, be sure to fill with clean hay regularly.

Depending on your climate, this can be VERY efficacious, particularly with a raised floor, insulation and hay as bedding- there are TONS of plans online, or you can use your own skills and Home Depot, I encourage you to google plans, obviously you care about your pet. Cedar can be very effective in warding off fleas and pests.

you need to go to your nearest hardware dealer and get sum wood. all depands on how big the dog is and how big the comfy space is for the dog is always important. get sum nails and sealant and varnies. it is very effective. I build two myself and it has lasted long.
