Yes, ionic compounds can conduct electricity. All that is necessary for electricity to flow is the presence of free electrons. An ion is just a positive or negative charge. This is what makes electricity flow in water, for instance.

ionic compounds are capable of conducting electricity in the molten state or when dissolved, as sufficient energy is provided and taken in by the ions to overcome the electrostatic forces and the ions are free to move and thus conduct current;but not when they are solids,as the strong electrostatic forces keep the ions immobile.
