Can you help me troubleshoot an electrical short?

You may want to try resetting the electrical outlet that you are trying to use by pushing the button in the middle of it. Or by hitting restart on the appliance you want to use. Also, check your circuit breaker.

To troubleshoot an electrical short, first pull the fuse on the appliance and use a meter to check the power incoming to the appliance.

The best thing to do is to find out which of your appliances is turning on and off. Once you have narrowed it down to the appliance you can try to figure out if it is the appliance or if it is the outlet that is creating the short. You can use a test light to figure it out.
