computer services usually can't destroy the records as they have backup for every bit of the data they always use different security policies and use the duplicate copy of data but it is better for you to save a copy of data in your hard drive so if any thing wrong occur you can use backup

Unfortunately, accidents happen and yes they can. If you have a back up, just re-install your records into your pc.
