Will using sewing cards for children help them with their gross or fine motor skills?

My son is having issues with his gross motor skills as a result I am trying to find activities that will help him.

Sewing cards would help more with fine motor skills. Gross motor skills involve larger movements with arms/legs, etc. Games like hopscotch, jumping rope, throwing balls would all help gross motor skills. Playing on various equipment at the playground would work as well.

Gross motor skills involve large muscles of the body, and are used in skills such as walking, running, kicking and throwing a ball, jumping rope, etc. If he is having problems with gross motor skills then sewing cards will not help him. Sewing cards will help with fine motor skills.

No, sewing cards would focus on fine motor skills, which involve using the hands and fingers. Gross motor skills involve the larger movements of the arms, legs, and torso.

they help kids to improve fine motor skills by teaching them to sew and thread needles in a fun and safe manner. It is a tried and true activity used by teachers in early education.

Yes! Make sure the needle is not too sharp or to small and that the pattern on the card is not too complicated. Other ways to improve include using Bingo dot paint to color pictures and sorting items such as buttons. Check local craft stores to find games and crafts for building motor skills.
