Some jobs will require a typing test, especially if you go through an employment or a temporary agency. There are various free typing tests online that you can practice with so you can get a good idea of your speed to put on your resume and to get yourself ready if one is required.

A typing test is usually required with any other skill tests done at the initial job screening. This would be done before they scheduled a job interview. If it hasn't happened before a face to face interview, then it is unlikely.

It depends on the job you're applying for. In my experience, the only typing tests I had to take were when I was looking for work through a temp agency. If you are required to take a test, you usually have a chance to do practice tests to warm up. Just try to relax and you'll do fine.

Having to type for a job interview will depend upon what kind of job you are interviewing for. Secretaries need to be able to type efficiently.
