No. Glaucoma is largely a genetic disease, with some environmental and behavioral factors, but eye strain is not among the contributing factors. Some believe that eye strain induces myopia, or near-sightedness, which is a risk factor for glaucoma. However, the degree of myopia that could be caused by eye strain is not likely to be enough to induce glaucoma.

Eye strain will not cause glaucoma. Glaucoma is an increased pressure within the eye that is often caused by various eye diseases or other health conditions.

Glaucoma is caused by high pressure on the eyes, and this occurs when drainage ducts in the eyes become clogged.
