Will a credit union extend credit to someone with a low credit score?

They may. A low credit score may be the result of multiple late payments or a major default. However, if you have proof of a stable income and renewed ability to pay, you can ask for a loan with manual underwriting, where a human reviews your case and decides to loan the money.

It really depends on the credit union and how bad your score is. I think there is a score that is so low that no one can give you one.

It varies. Some credit unions might do this, particularly if you have a long-standing relationship with them, but not all do so.

If you can find someone who has really good credit then they will do it as long as this person cosigns for you.
