Question by  mikey (29)

Why would my cat meow every time he goes in the litter box?

My cat is not normally a very vocal cat, with the exception of when he goes to the litter box.

Have you considered the possibility that your cat might have a digestive problem? Your cat might have a constipation problem possibly due to the food given to him/her. My best advise would be to speak to the veternarian to determine the seriousness of the situation.

It's possible the cat is having problems passing; it could be from a urinary tract infection or it could be from constipation. Or perhaps the litter is hurting his feet, pads or toes.

Urinary infections or constipation can be painful and maybe your cat is trying to tell you something. Some cats do not like sharing a litter box or an excessively used litter box. Make sure litter is deep enough. Perhaps your cat is just expressing himself!

It's possible that the cat is in pain when using the litter box. If he shows any other signs of not feeling well, he should be seen by a vet.
