Make sure your controllers are properly charged. Next, make sure the controllers are manufactured by Sony. Third party controllers sometimes have compatibility issues with the PS3 wireless receiver.

The PS3 controller has to be connected using the USB cable and then it can be disconnected and the wireless will work normally. If you do this and still doesn't work then the PS3 controller need to be charged. If its fully charged there maybe a problem with the PS3.

A common problem is that the batteries are low. If the batteries are low, the controller can not generate enough power to connect to the wireless console.

The best probable solution is to Soft reset your console (This can be done by Holding down the power button in front of your PS3) & then reset your controller.
