The thermostat may be broken or fallen out of calibration. Make sure the control is not between positions. One or more of the heating elements may have failed. Is the fan running at the proper speed?

Well, there is a huge possibility that the fan has been overworked. If you've had it for a while, you need to get parts replacement done.
