Why is there a lump above my elbow?

This could be a number of different things. One, it could be a simple calus... your jacket or sleeve might rub in a weird way. Two, it could be a bone spur, a boney outcropping of the humerus. Third, it could be a tumor (either benign or malignant). If it is new and fleshy you should have it checked out.

Three possible reasons, a healed break, a bruise that is healing or you get knocked there a lot and the body is leaving a layer fluid protection.

Check the lump is watery or not. In any case have an x-ray done to detect any cancer and consult a doctor.

There's a possibility it could be a condition called bursitis. This is where you get an accumulation of fluid under the skin thats released from a bursa on the elbow.
