Why is my water heater beeping?

Answer by  news2me (28)

Generally, the beeping would indicate a problem with the water heater that needs attention. It's hard to say without more information, but it may be that there is a water leak. It might also indicate that the unit is overheating. You shouldn't ignore this warning.

A sensor has been activated. There is a possible water leak, over heating or if it is a gas water heater, there may be a gas leak.
