Why is my Roper dryer making a clicking sound?

It has been making this sound about 1 week but it seems to be drying the clothes okay.

Dryers have several moving parts that could cause a clicking sound. The blower fan could be coming into contact with something. There is a motor, tensioner and a belt that turn the main drum, the tensioner for the belt could be loose or the belt could be freyed causing a clicking noise as well.

Make a careful examination of the dryer drum for the cause of your clicking noise. It could be a bobby pin, nail or something else that a family member had in their pockets. You might also check to be sure there is not a coin rolling around as the dryer drum turns.

Well, that happened to me as well. Perhaps, it needs to be replaced at this time now. Mine happened as a result of wear.
