If your ferret also seems lethargic and weak, it could be a sign of insulinoma. The most common symptoms of this condition are: lethargy, being in a daze, weakness, difficulty walking, and lessened appetite. This condition is similar to hypoglycemia in humans and can often be temporarily remedied by feeding the ferret a high calorie supplement paste.

Moslikely, the room temperature is too hot for your pet. In addition, ferrets are one of the few animals that have human like symptoms. Your pet may have a cold. It should last for a week or two. However, I recommend you to adjust the room temperature. If that does not work, your pet must see a doctor.

There are many possible reasons. One is that the ferret has a salivary gland disorder. The ferret could have also gotten into some kind of poison which is making it drool. The best thing would be to take him to the vet and have some tests run to rule out a gland disorder or poisoning or a neurological disorder.

Ferret drooling can be an indication of a serious medical condition such as pancreatic illness, poisoning, or dental disease. If the condition only lasts between 5 - 15 minutes, it is most likely an indication of low blood sugar. It is highly recommended to consult with a veterinarian for an immediate medical diagnosis.

Take your farret to the vet right away. Constant drooling can be caused by something as simple as tempratures too warm (farrets are best at 75 degrees or below) or something as serious as insulinoms which is a disease of the pancreas and can be fatal. Make sure your farret has plenty of water and high protein cat food.
