Your DVD player is probably not recognizing the video due to the fact that the DVD or video, or burned disc may be scratched, cracked, or broken. Try other discs to see if it works, if the answer is yes, then you probably have a disc error, I suggest repurchasing the movie.

The video may be broken or incompatible with your player. Check the disc for any deep scratches or cracks. Check the package to see if it is the right format.

There are a couple possibilities and it could mean that the DVD player is broken, in that case I'd try a different DVD. If it is a burned copy it could mean the DVD player doesn't read burned disks. Lastly check the actual disk for scratches and if there are some surface scratches, try and wipe them with cotton cloth.

If your DVD was made in a different region than your DVD player (i. e. Europe and the US) then unfortunately they are not compatible and will not play.

Some videos bought online are made in Canada and the format is not recognized on some DVD players. Also if the disc is warped from heat it will not play
