It doesn't necessarily mean your dog is sick. Look for other symptoms, such as loss of pigmentation, runny nose, and general lethary. If these are present, he needs a vet.

A dogs nose being dry is one possible sign of the dog being sick. You should make sure that you dog has enough food and water and make sure that they are eating and drinking plenty. If the dog is eating less, or is coughing, sneezing, or doing other weird things get it into a vets office

If your dog's nose is dry, and it's not showing any signs of sickness such as no appitite, difficulty walking, etc, it means nothing. A dog's nose can be wet or dry.

Many times that is a symptom of an illness in a dog. It could also be that the air is dry where he lives. If you are concerned the vet can probably help you.
