You should carefully check if you have been feeding your dog with anything that was dark coloured, if not then it could be a serious issue, since black vomit usually it's partially digested blood (which turns black due the stomach acids). So if you hadn't fed it with anything dark, you should take your dog to the vet.

Either your dog ate something black, which is entirely possible, or it is throwing up dried blood, which is not good. Please take your dog to the vet as soon as possible.

Usually if that happens it means the dog has gotten into something it shouldn't have you need to take the dog to the vet and have it checked out good they have tests that they can do and they will be able to tell you for sure.

If they haven't eaten anything black within a half hour or so before hand, it is most likely bile that they are vomitting. This is a serious sign and is most likely a result of internal organ failure.

the presence of black vomit or like coffee grounds could be the presence of blood in the stomach and needs to be brought to the attention of the vet immediately.

That is not a good sign you should bring her or him to the vet immediately. Maybe it was something the dog ate or maybe the dog is not feeling well either way he should see a vet to be safe.
