Reasons may include but are not limited to: not having found a significant other with whom you feel a connection great enough to spend the rest of your life with, fear of commitment, fear of loss, low self esteem, low self confidence, or the misinterpretation of what marriage means and what it entitles.

Maybe there is something holding you back about your partner and you do not want to admit it. Look at your relationship and make sure it is what you want. Are you frightened of making that final step to commitment. Are you worried about be married and not being single and free.

It could be that you just haven't met the right person yet, or it could be that you've got a fear of commitment. If you've been in love several times and your family says things like "Why didn't you marry so and so?" then it's probably a fear of commitment.

The time isn't right for you yet. When it is right, you won't even have to actively decide to get married: it'll happen. It may be that you're not with the right person, not at the right time of life or are worried you'll miss out on something else.

Could it be that you're just not ready? Your partner should respect that you may need a lot of time before making a choice that will affect the rest of your life. This is a big moment in your life and it makes sense that you should take lots of time to consider your options.
