Why does my flat screen TV make a clicking noise when I turn it off?

It's not the "regular" clicking noise.

All television sets, I have noticed, make a different clicking noise when they are turned on and off. Is your set an older model? I ask because if the clicking sound is softer than it used to be, you could have a worn out switch on your hands. In time, the switch could wear out and need to be replaced.

Both of my flat screens make weird noises when they are turned off. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless the noise changes. If that is the case it could be that there is a lose wire inside.

The clicking is made by a switch that is inside the TV that is shutting off power to the unit, I fthe noise is sounding different thatn usually it could mean that the electronics that control the power flow to your tv set could be starting to malfunction or fail

This could be because of many different reasons. One of the main ones is that the TV is cutting off all outside sources of power.
