Why does my cat give so many love bites?

It may sound crazy, but just like people give hickeys to show their love or desire for another so do cats. Unlike a dog, who licks to show affection a cat licks to clean. So other then rubbing up against you this is one way to show their love.

I love when my cat gives me love bites. I think love bites are just a sign that he or she loves you very much.

They are not called love bites. Your cat is trying to tell you she has had enough of this play time. She may also object to how hard you are rubbing her or where you are rubbing her. It is her way of saying please stop that.

Cats mostly using biting as a sign of playfulness or as a sign that they want to be left alone.
