Why does my car turn off in reverse?

If you are a beginner then it may be due to mishandling of clutch and if you are a good driver, the timing and idling of your car is problem.

You might have a problem with the transmission linkage or possible a wiring or vacuum issue. I would start by checking online to see if other have had this problem.

You need to go have it checked out it could be anything. The people at the repair shop would know what is wrong, and what to do about it. Good luck.

If your car may old then the gear box arrangement may failure. If you are not using the clutch properly then the car will turn off. Otherwise check your car gear box setting is correct or not. May be some wear and tear problem occurring in your gear box alignment.
