Many people like to build things as a hobby. Paper allows them to be creative and innovative. Paper is easier to cut and fold. It gives a sense of achievement.

People who make paper models, buildings in particular, enjoy a hobby that's creative. It is an amazing accomplishment to contruct a model realistically such that it looks like a famous building. While many architects like to make paper model buildings, it is also becoming more common for model enthusiasts, too.

Making model buildings from paper is one branch of the hobby of architectural models, which has many enthusiasts today, although it is not what you would call a craze. The challenge of getting the look of an actual building on such a small scale attracts a certain personality.

It brings a lot of joy to build something. Something that one day could actually be built outside pen and paper or cardboard cut-outs.
